Yet another recommendation from me for Wheels in motion Chesham.

I phoned up yesterday and managed to get an appointment for 1pm.

The car was straight on the laser alignment machine and it became apparent the front ride height was too low, causing the tyre wear.

So they got it off the alignment ramp and into the main workshop, both shocks were removed, adjusted, and refitted. Then the car was aligned again and camber bolts re-fitted correctly to stop the left pull (that we all know so well :p)

Nice waiting room, and you can really tell these guys know there stuff.

They accommodated me even though I was 20 mins late (held up on the M4)

Thanks again guys!

I'd be very interested in that too Abs - as I have new springs all round now, and it was done after my last visit to WiM, it might be prudent to get everything checked again ... if I can afford it.

It was £240-00 for the alignment and removal/adjusting/refitting of the front shock absorbers.

If I had needed camber bolts they would have been extra, but I already had them. :)

It's worth the money as you will only need to visit once to know it was done right.

^ Agree. It sounds a lot, but keep replacing tyres for uneven wear soon becomes expensive. Money well spent.

I agree Rog, I went through 2 sets of front tyres as the inner edges kept getting chewed up.

Glad it’s finally sorted. :-)

Abs - if this is with your 211 wagon, I had the alignment checked and adjusted at WIM approximately a year before you bought it. That's when the camber bolts were fitted. It was wearing inner edges of front tyres then, too. So either WIM didn't do it properly the first time, or something is worn or damaged at the front. All that being said, my current E63 tends to wear the inner edges of the front tyres, so maybe it's just a 211 characteristic.

Money well spent I would say, nice to find that sort of service.

I know Tony from the early days in Watford... and have been using WIM for 15 years now... I try and take the car there annually.

Can't recommend them enough. And Tony is top bloke.

Same here, even been to Milton Keynes branch, when it was there.
Tony sorted a very tricky situation for me, when cowboys from Tyres Northampton overtightened my wheels to the extend that, the locking key sheared.
Brilliant chap.

Hey Gordon,

Hope you have been well,

Yes it was the 211, I wonder if some of the suspension work I had done recently knocked the alignment out? I am not sure if the camber bolts are removed when components are replaced, id assume so?

Cheers,
Abs

No idea about the camber bolts, but I always get my cars checked after any suspension work.
