Hi all as I said before I bought this car a good few weeks ago and I usually change something on it but i didn’t need to change the front splitter side skirts or boot spoiler as the previous owner did from a company called maxton design but I changed the front grill last week so i want to do the wheels but not to sure what to do with them to paint them black or change them altogether so need a bit of help the first picture is the ones that’s on the car the second picture is what I think was originally on the carIMG_1381.pngIMG_1208.jpeg

Not a fan of black wheels myself, but YMMV.
My priority would be binning those Ditchfinder tyres and fitting something a bit more in keeping with the car;)

Definitely not Black. If your gonna change um. A nice set of Silver 5 spokes, would look great. 5 spokes look good on any car. And oh, so easy to clean. 🙂👍

I agree don't go black, Ive got the 7 spoke AMG wheels on mine but not a fan of them, thinking of a set of multi spoke wheels like yours ?

What do mean by ditchfinder tyres unfortunately these were on the car when I bought it and the size of tyres that came from the manufacturer

I will probably just keep the wheels and get them done silver but that gives me another problem which colour of silver LOL

Chinese manufacturered, Budget tyres.
Nicknamed Chinese Ditch Finders. Depends what you want or expect from a tyre. They could well be ok.
🙂👍
Obviously not my choice of tyers but the dealer put new ones on the car so they will do until I need to change them and put cross climates on them as i have done on most of my cars

These are normally made by a company called SureSlip and most certainly not by Michelin. I can understand why the vendor would put them on to sell the as they are legal. They also can feel reasonably ok in dry conditions and when you ask little of them, unfortunately most people only find their shortcomings in an emergency, which is often just too late....

If you like chrome effect then check out shadow chrome and hyper silver. You can go as bright or dark as you wish with these finishes. Just tell a competent shop what you want. Don’t diamond cut your wheels if you want to keep the car long term because the finish lasts about 2 years if you’re careful

Sterling Silver and Hyper Silver are commonly used on Mercedes wheels.

Is hyper silver shadow chrome
Hyper silver is very bright whereas shadows chrome is darker. Shadow chrome uses a chrome effect paint over the top of a dark (usually black) base coat, making the chrome appear tinted.

Do you want your wheels to be refurbished with the closest match to the factory finish or are you looking for something different? If you want factory finish just tell the refurb place and they’ll do their best to match it.

I may have mentioned it before  but I am rather partial to a bit of Shadow Chrome.

Trouble is, it's pretty much impossible to match if you kerb a wheel.

I like the shadow chrome and they do look nice but as you say it’s impossible to match them if they get kerbed so I think i will need to pass on those

I went with dark gunmetal gray on my black SL, I thought the normal silver was too light and black too dark.20230508_160741.jpg
