I was supposed to be having a clear out then I saw this advertised recently. I don't know what it is with these CLK's as I have a real soft spot for them and they do seem very good value for money. This is my 9th or 10th or something like that. The last one was a black 2008 280 Sport convertible that had the eye watering yearly tax. It wouldn't have been so bad but at a couple of thousand miles a year it wasn't worth it, to me.

This is the latest one. Not the most thrilling or rare colour but it's quite a tidy one.

and it even came with a great condition OEM wind deflector.

It's a good spec car with sat nav, heated electric and memory seats, front and rear sensors, zenons. It looks pretty tidy in the pictures but the roof, bodywork and interior will benefit from a good clean. It drives really well. It's an elegance so doesn't have the crashy sports suspension set up, although I think the sports look better with the kit on it. The 3.2 with the 5 speed box is a good match. It's basically a non facelift 209 with the facelift interior and the more modern look sat nav, etc, which I prefer.

The reason I was having a clear out was to buy something for the summer that doesn't cost a lot- fingers crossed this year will be as nice as last year. I was looking at SLK's, E's, 3 series, Z3/4's, Saab 9-3's, etc. I was quite surprised how many 171's had mot mentions of rusty rear subframes. Anyway, I'm waffling.....

I thought ha! Got a part number for wind deflector. Average of £299!! Good job I'm bald and will buy a nice scarf for SWMBO

The prices are just plain daft. They really do make a difference to the noise in the cabin as well as wind. If you got one for £150 then you'd never lose money on it. £299 is just mental.

Not just on Mercs either, I found an original with case deflector a few years back for my e46. A couple of times I was offered nearly double what I paid at club meets 🤷‍♂️😱

Lovely CLKs by the way, definitely something about them.

Congrats, this sounds about as successful as my attempts to thin out the herd :D

Hi! Any chance of pics with the wind deflector "in-situ" internal and external please? (a component of getting my wife to agree to sell her B-class and use the CLK....)

I have that wind deflector on mine. I'll get some pics for you a little later. I was lucky to get mine from a member on here a little while ago.

Yes please! Prices on them are stupid! I think Sue is coming round - she asked me to insure it for next weekend so she can decide! Do you have any pics of your car on here that I can show her?

Appreciated x

I don't think there are, she doesn't get photographed as much as the old girl!

Lovely to see how many like the CLK, Incredible value. I love mine. I got my genuine Merc wind deflector for £200, with bag and instructions. Some of the cheaper ones don't fold so storage becomes an issue.

If your new addition isn't enough, what about this one?
Mercedes-Benz CLK 350 Sport 2dr Tip Auto PETROL AUTOMATIC 2007/L | eBay

To the Op, this is my thought and i'm on the look out for one too, Do they suffer alot from scuttle shake? or do they feel typical Mercedes solid?

Steering clear of the 280/350 lumps silly Tax and Reliability could be a issue.

As you probably know I've just got a CLK240 Cab (and looks like Sue has been won round!) Her first comment after driving it (and after the silly grin calmed down!) is that it was measurably smoother and quieter than my S220 and the SLK she had.

Hardly notice any scuttle shake and flexing which is not to say it doesn't exist. I'm used to jumping from one car into another quite often so tend to ignore certain faults/features/things unless they're stand out annoying. This car doesn't annoy me and is great to drive and even better when the sun is out. You know you are in a Merc.
