Hi,

Just bought a second 2013 Mercedes and just wondered if there is anyway to find out what the car came equipped with. Sounds a bit odd I know but just seeing what options I am supposed to have if that makes sense.

Thank you :)

this may help

Just look up the website for your car - details standard and optional extras along with a lot of other info.

Hi, thanks probably didn't explain myself very well.

So on my Audi there is a sticker in the boot that tells you every option your car had from the factory, like colour of the seats, which engine is fitted, what options were installed like folding mirrors etc.

Didn't know if there was something similar for the Mercedes

Have a look at some of the VIN decoders first of all for a data card:

E.g. Mercedes VIN Decoder | Decode Your Mercedes-Benz VIN

You can ask your local dealer for an Oasis report which would give a bit more detail on the build spec details - options, prices, dates etc.

The OASIS report is absolutely the best way of understanding not just the total equipment list as provided by a VIN decoder, but what was standard equipment and what was optional.

My first Mercedes so all a bit new
It can all be a bit confusing when you're new to the brand, and even long-time owners get tripped up by some option packages.

Welcome, BTW, and hope you're enjoying your new car 👍

Thank you :)

The vin website listed a load of options for my car but some are missed off so I assume its not a complete list so I have emailed my local dealer to ask for the OASIS report. Not sure if they do it by email or I have to go in there

They might ask you to go in there with V5 etc, or possibly you could send a copy through. Nothing to lose by asking though! :)

Bit of a trivial question so my car doesn't have that wireless go thing as far as I know. To the point I was messing around with the handle for ages with the car locked and it didn't open so think we can assume I don't have it. And I have to push the key into the ignition and turn to start it.

However and do bear with me here, are the keys like you see on tv where someone is waving something at your front door and can unlock the car etc or do they just not work like that?

If you don’t have keyless go, then you’ve got nothing to worry about there.

Ok, thanks, I did think that to be the case but never know :)

Keyless go sorry, not sure what I am on about with wireless go lol
