Which wheels for my E350 2011 W212.

I've neither , but happily taken a single seater , a Ferrari 458 , Aston Martin DB9 Volante , Porsche Kamen , Lotus Elan , Nissan 200SX , Subaru Imprezza P1 , and Mitubishi Evo 6 through paces .

Very nice. But what's it got to with BelfastBills, wheels for his W212. 🙂👍

Well my glc handles the same with a full tank of derv as it does with the light on. Real world . 👍
That's sprung weight...unsprung weight is a very different thing.

That said bigger well made wheels wont weigh any more than factory 16 or 17 inch ones.....and of course neither will the tyres to a significant level..less sideways equals less weight assuming the rolling circumference remains the same as it should.

As much as I don't want a hard crashing ride I like my cars to have sharp steering which will lose feel with big sidewalls and if you track the car it will only get worse. I have no plans to track a derv 212!....but equally I am prepared to sacrifice a tiny bit of ride comfort on the alter of handling and a good feeling of what's going on at the road/tyre contact point. My staggered 18s on factory sports suspension is a good compromise and only jars on the biggest bumps and ridges. I certainly would not go smaller (a 212 is a pretty big car and looks bit silly on 16 or 17 inch wheels imo)....and I really like the look of 507 style alloys on the 212 and they look best as 19s. So hopefully a set of quality reps will replace my 18 inch AMG ones one day....I'm always looking for a good used set!

I'm fully aware buddy , have no fear . 😂 . I did notice a bit of extra lateral from the rear right when I added a full bottle of redex before my Asda outing ,the other day .

If you are moving to 19” take a recording of your voice now for your loved ones benefit because when you bite the end of your tongue off after hitting a monster pothole you will end up speaking differently ;) .

I had 20s on my A8....it was fine......paying for the tyres?.....not so much! So much more to ride quality than just wheel size.

My father's A7 is on 21's , he's never complaining about the ride .

My 212 Avantgarde is on 17s and to be honest I wouldn’t want it any more harsh - it’s not a particularly plush ride as it is on UK roads. I run slightly lower pressures already which actually makes quite a difference. I’m not sure I’d risk lower pressures with 18s or 19s. The SE suspension is much more plush in my experience and might take 19s better maybe.

I think Sport snd Avant-garde suspension is the same ? Mine rides fine on 18s.....but our definitions of acceptable ride quality could be a long way apart!

Yes I think it is the same. Mine being a wagon I guess I really would prefer it to be a bit more plush for touring duties! It’s fine on the continent but on our recent tour up to the top of Scotland and back a bit more compliance on the poor roads would have been nice. I think this is why I keep looking at S classes!

I looked at one and was tempted....but then I remembered the trouble I had trying to find parking spaces (in public parking areas) that were big enough to fit it in... so E it was. Even that still requires me to be more picky about space size than with the 159!
