Hi all, a small problem I hope can be sorted. I have, in the past, had Realplayer on my PC and now want to switch to Windows Media Player. Is there anyway I can transfer all the tracks from Real to Windows? If I click search in Windows Media, it says X items found, but will not load them into Media Player. Maybe not possible?

What are the file types (i.e. what 3 letters do they end in?)

alternative: "convert the M4a file to mp3 using a beaut little app called Free CD-DA Extractor 4.8. You'll find it at Download.com"

If you install the 3ivx D4 codec onto your computer you will be able to play m4a through Windows Media Player without conversion. It's primarily a Video codec but a side effect is it will also decode the audio .m4 formats

Download from this site:
http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html

Run the installation, reboot computer, play .m4a audio ...

Thanks for the input, problem is Windows Media will scan the file, but will not include them onto Windows Media Player, even though it says they are there. I don't want to delete all the file and then have to reload all the CD's. Maybe there is no shortcut:(

Once you have .m4a's playing in Media Player OK add this Plug-in to allow them to be listed in your Media Library
