Hi.

Right, this should be a simple question for all you experts here..... :D

On the CD Changer in the Boot, (s500 w220) my Power Cable Plug has come adrift from all 3 Wires.

Now, I want to replace the Wires back into the Plug after re-connecting the Wires to the little Sockets that go into the actual Plug.

All I need to to know is which Wire goes to the corresponding Number on the Plug? (See photo).

I can tell you that my BROWN WIRE is GROUND. The BLUE WIRE with thin BLACK stripe is showing Permanent LIVE. The RED/YELLOW WIRE I cannot seem to get a proper reading.

I am doing this with the Key out of the Ignition.

Thanking you in advance. ;)

think your yellow red wire might be fibre optic? An car audio man should be along shortly.

Thanks Grober, but I have seen this photo and it states that the Blue is Ground.... But as Stated, on mine the Brown is Ground according to my Meter Test...??
Hence me asking here because I'm quite confused.

The Fibre Optic is a separate Connector. This Plug is supposed to be purely a Permanent Live, a Switched Live and a Ground, which I have, I just need to know what goes where?

What age?

The wiring is different between the Comand 2.5 / Comand 2.0 and the NTG1 systems.

On the assumption it is a 2000 car (as per your sig), then
1= Brown
2= Red/Yellow
3= Blue/Black

Cheers
Richard

BTW, Brown is Ground. Red/Yellow is +12v. (both fed from the COMAND), Blue/Black is a digital wakeup signal.

Thanks Richard.... I sort of realised that but as the wires became detached without me knowing which wire goes where I do not know where they belong according to slots 1; 2; 3.

I have soldered the wires back onto the internal sockets, now all I need to do is put them back into the plug - but I don't know the sequence??? Sorry.

I hope the photo below explains it better.... :cool:

I gave you the sequence in my first post - the plug has numbers stamped on it (I assume that is the 1, 2, 3 you have added to your picture)

No, I wasn't referring to any numbers because I hadn't seen any numbers. I was just numbering them for ease of identification. (Absolute fluke that they were right!).

But now I see them after getting out the magnifying glass - thanks.

Still doesn't work anyway....???

Thanks for your help anyway - MP40 for the bin I think.... (Although it must have worked at one stage as it had SD Cards in it that had music and are fine in the PC). :wallbash::wallbash:

As there was no power on the red / yellow lead, you need to solve that issue before binning it! R

Thinking about it now I was doing all the tests previously with the Key out of the Ignition. I'll try it with the Ign in position 1 and 2 to see if there is Power.
I'll also double check to make sure I'm getting a red flash on the Optical.
I've already checked the Fuse - #61 under the rear seat, all good.

Thanks again.
