(my first outside mod - worked well the dental floss trick.)

for sale, 3/4 of a roll of dental floss, slightly minty, very useful to get badges off Mercs.. ;) :bannana:
 
Yup, when you have a car like that, who's going to be reading the badges. ;)

I'm going to hazard a guess that they were only stuck on... (no holes!)

To be honest an old shape CL looks better with the badges, theres one around here without and it doesnt look right,

Dont get me wrong Im for debadging Mercs (mine is)

I would actually .. im looking for either a 3 or 4 in the chrome lettering like the back of the car if anyone has one kicking about.

I think either keep the OEM CL420 look or have nothing, don't keep just the 'CL'.
 
surely its somthing to advertise, the fact you have a 4.2 litre engine?
 
there is some logic behind my decisin of just the CL.

1) the numberplate is C140 MB - which some people might think i was trying to create CL420 MB, but couldn't

2) the 420 was the gurley engine option (5.0 / 6.0 are the only other ones)

3) I like confusing people - most people, inc some mb peeps, dont know what it is, especially as thee production run was so limited (2500 420s worldwide)

4) i thought it looked 'understated'

spare 4 for sale ;)
 
OEM was no badges until 97. MB were changing name from S420 coupe to CL420. Most of the 94-97 were not badged from the factory. Except the 600 which had V12...

then how come its an option 'deletion of rear markings' or words to that effect?
 
Ive seen loads of S500's (before they changed the name)
 
Like you say - it was a small production run. I have only ever seen single figures of that shape CL on the road. Debadge and confuse everyone!
 
Out of the two piccies shown I preferred the total de-badged look, I'm with Richard on this one, either go for the full CL420 badge or the total stealth look. The CL on its own just doesn't look right to my eye.
