Would You buy a 300k w124?

I would consider something like that a disposable car.

In so much as you buy it and maintain it whilst it's economical to do so then break it when something expensive fails. It's then likely to give you a year or possibly 2 years of comfortable cheap motoring.

I'd not pay more than £1000 for it though, and the £1800 buy it now is too steep.

I've seen them with more on than that, I was watching a facelift (L or M plate) 300TD on eBay a few months back, that had nearly 400K on it (370 or something)

That went for silly money IMHO - well over a grand or two.

My last W124 (300TE) had 225K when I sold it, no sweat :)

Depends what its like underneath? Will probably need a new heater/aircon fan --possible dash stripdown?? Rear suspension shocks/ spheres may also be feeling the strain of all those IKEA trips by now?? Looks good but who can tell?

If the car drives and feels as it should and has no rust issues, the high mileage wouldn't put me off at all.
