Did you get it as commercial vehicle. My friend had to take X250 from stock because he was told that X350 wasn't commercial, as it didn't fit some HMRC criteria (payload). Also told me X250 couldn't be ordered with extra packs any more, all packs moved to X350, hence stock choice.

It took him 6 weeks to get the car and said it was like, MB didn't really want to sell him the car. They were happy to give him 48h test drives.

I don't really get pick-ups, but then again I've got no need for one. That looks like a good sort if that's what you're into. I should mention I got comprehensively pwned by a VW Amarok on the A34 a few weeks back, talk about thundering past. I wasn't hanging about, but that Amarok must have been doing 120+. Not clever on the public highway, but it proves they can shift..

Cheers,

Gaz

One of the reasons to get pick up is to save on tax when running limited company. Pick up with 1000kg payload is classified as commercial vehicle, BIK is very low and you can put all the cost through company. That's the reason why my friend got one, because he could, so he did. He certainly doesn't need one, he has two other passenger cars and doesn't even drive them on daily basis. He tried to convinced me to get pick up too, but I prefer to pay for something I like from taxed cash, rather then put car through company that doesn't exactly fit my requirements.

You can offset the total purchase cost of a plug-in in the first year and the BiK is also low. That means HMRC are giving a 19% contribution to the car purchase cost. Of course, when you px it / sell it the cash does go back in the business and you will pay tax when you get the cash out. Very tax efficient though
