Yet more dealer woe

I was on the Mechanical side of this site, I got some vital assistance...thankyou Jay.

.....it appears that during my 100kkm/60kmiles service from hell, the Mercedes dealer didn't check the AT fluid level of a car which has a "AT transfer box leak".

My car "broke down" 3 weeks after the service and I had to limp a slipping gearbox home. Not wishing to be a sap but I'll play my cards here....I've fallen for the old SL...when the gearbox slipped I was destroyed. I'm sure some of you know the feeling. Having to move it from a dangerous road was very unpleasant. I could feel the old bits hurting.

I know what you will say "wel...you need to check....blah" Yes I know, but I think you'll agree a MAJOR service has a honeymoon period after it for no checking!

Anyway, Merc UK said WTF (in much more Mercedes like terms), Merc over here are 'looking into it'.

If I bought a car outside my ability and had it serviced with A.Daley then I would take this on the chin but as I said in a distant post - I went to MB to get the car straight.

Note: This isn't Merc UK, this is Merc Middle East.

No they definately should have checked it.. They should offer a goodwill gratuity at least.. maybe a full ATF service.
The problem is that you need to be sure the car has no leaks etc.
