young classics

I guess it is the standard by which we should judge all other used (old) cars.

I looked at all the pictures the 1993 E class 320 coupe with just 32,000 km.

It is immaculate, but there was a glaring fault - the arm rest piping had one split. That should be changed immediately, but it would be a negotiating point !

The reason I like Mercedes is just because of the great lengths they go to
preserve the heritage.

The example of creating new improved interior trim panels for cars from the 60's is a 'wow' for me. The new panels will be more fire resistant and more environmentally friendly in use of the materials.

We hear of 'continually improving the product even after production ends'
but WOW that is some extreme example. Excellent.

re benzmizer's signature - mine has that effect on the ladies too....(!!)

ps - isnt that blue 126 the most sublime looking specimen youve ever seen!!!

At first glance I thought it was nautical blue (same as the two in my sig), but as I look harder it doesn't look to be metallic. Any thoughts on what colour it actually is?

I do indeed:)

Ignore the 1990 part as I posted that thread before I got the V5c and was going on what the seller told me. It's a late 1989 model.

woah! mines just like it, about 84 on the clock, cloth seats, running smooth - though slight misfire at the mo, i clean and wax regular, though wouldnt ever think of re painting speedo dials! thats is a whole nother level! do you know a lot about the engines...do you do much work on them?

Those needles make quite a difference dont they, much fresher. You'll find the intrument cluster removes really easily and is well thought out like the rest of the car, designed to be sturdy and fixable.
I put white faces on mine and red needles. I have a spare cluster in case i get bored of it though.. :)

re painting speedo dials is a whole new world to me...i love giving mine a good wax, smoooth, gleamingliquid like skin....she's been blinging all weekend!! so many looks and comments! love it!

i love the waxing too. OCD i think its called :)

I use wax and then protectant on top for even more shine. Klasse sealant its called. Its a faff and a bit expensive but its worth it.
