Nearly killed myself on it in the middle of the Dublin mountians - lost my bottle so gave it to a mate.

That looks scary:eek:

In order

1972 Yamaha AS1 125. Brand new for my 17th birthday. Lasted 5 months before someone pulled out in front of me
1971 Yamaha RD 250. Bought with the insurance money, lasted 3 months before I went too fast round a corner
1972 Kawasaki H1. Superfast but like riding a greased pig. Lasted 7 weeks.

Sum total of my biking experience, 10 months, 3 crashes, and never been on one since.

GEEZE YOU'VE HAD SOME BIKES!

So.........it would seem that MB's are a natural progression from bikes...........

year of bike, in order of owning them

???? Raleigh Runabout (field bike)
???? Lambretta 125 (field bike)
???? Suzuki 50 (ancient bike, not moped)
1973 Honda SS50
1976 Suzuki AP50
1975 Yamaha RD125N
1976 Suzuki GT185
1981 Yamaha LC350 (pre YPVS, nutters bike)
1985 Kawasaki KE125
1990 Kawsaki GT550
1996 Honda CBR600
1982('probably', Q-plate) Yamaha TDR250
1995 Yamaha TDM 850

Next bike would have been - Honda VFR800....but....

on 12th September 2000 the fuel rationing started. So, instead of taking my (then) C200 to work, I decided to take the bike (TDM). 25 mile nice journey through rolling Derbyshire countryside. Half way to work, some tw*t coming the other way decided to turn right and cut across me. He hit me broadside, at speed.
Result: open fractures to femur (2); open fractures (multiple) to tibia; fracture to fibula; broken finger; multiple cuts and bruises; massive displacement to entire knee, major arterial damage + blood loss...... the list goes on.

The 'bloke' (young lad, early twenties, ancient car) who hit me, in his statement, said (sic) 'I never seen him coming until 'e it me. Mind you, I woz just lighting me fag and puttin' me shades on'.

Fortunately he was insured. He was fined £150 and six points.

I have now had seven operations and still have a limp.

There is no justice in the world.

They had one with suspension??? Why wasn't I told this earlier???

Still, it had to go. At 16 I couldn't live with the embarrassment of pedalling away from HMV in town to get it started

The DT50 was a much better bet for a young lad looking to impress young girls!!!
