So having had both side vents delivered from sunny Lithuania I thought it was about time to fit the upgraded facelift ones. There was a guide saying to remove dash trim fascia etc and that had me worried about breaking things. I decided to have a go myself so I will detail that process here.
#usual caveat that its done at your own risk etc#

Step 1 - RHS get some trim removal tools and start to pry at the right hand side of the vent - you will notice that there is some movement.

Now be brave and pry some more, pull the face towards you and then the vent face should pop off unbroken like this...

Now you need to remove the back part of the vent. I used a small more grip on one side and held a pliers on the other like this...

Some force is required so make sure you dont slip and damage anything - its not a lot of force but just be mindful. once free of the clips the vent is still attached by this small plug wire...

Reattach wire into new vent - I put the ignition on at this point to double check the position adjuster was illuminated.

Then you push the new vent into place and you're left with this. Voila...

All in all a pretty simple upgrade. So to recap you go from plastic to aluminium look.

I think it lifts the cabin nicely and its relatively easy to achieve. Makes me want to do the rest of the dash facelift now but there's plenty of time for that...

I'll leave this up to the mods whether its good enough to go in the proper 'how to' forum.

Good thread, you took a risk getting them from Sunny Lithuania!

Nice gloves, are you a magician? ;)
