I've had mine since new 2002. Its went thru 2 broken springs at the front. I'm refurbishing the rear (subframe off) and both back ones were gone also. It's only done 50,000. Scottish weather I suppose

I'm doing a similar resto on 2002 slk. I took off the brake fluid reservoir lid then put some cling film over the opening and screwed the lid back on. Change the rubber hoses for stainless braided they last longer. Bleed the caliper furthest from the reservoir, first on mine its n/s rear. Good...

Subframe done. Got new Lemforder arms, new wheel bearings, new diff mounts, new handbrake cables and shoes, brake splash guards and other things I can't remember. Car is 16 years old I've had it since new so its worth it to me. Started off as a ABS ring fault then went downhill from there.

Hi Would it be ok to lightly sand and then paint the propshaft? It looks a bit tatty. I'm thinking a light dusting of VHT mat black exhaust paint. I'll take care not to disturb any balance weights. Cheers
