Perhaps Halfords or a local garage will be able to test it. I didn't want to drive it without indicators.

Engine off. Don't know about a 2nd battery. The handbook only mentions the one in the boot! If there was a 2nd one would that be in the boot as well, or engine bay?

I've had this car a year and never noticed that the wing mirror puddle lights didn't work. M.B. health check threw up an error message stating open or short circuit for the lights. Checked the bulbs = OK, checked the dash menu showing external lights as "ON" Internal courtesy lights work fine...

If you have the early Audio 20 with tape (and 6CD autochanger) there is another option, use a wired FM modulator which gives an AUX input through a "spare" radio channel. I fitted one to my W211 a couple of weeks ago & works perfectly! Can post details if you want. Cheers

1st thing is not to panic. I had the same "Service brake - Visit workshop" warning light on my 2003 E320 (75K) last week. 1st thought was SBC & my heart sank..... MB Birmingham were excellent, did the diagnostic and found a switch fault ! They fixed it & reset the SBC counter + a full health...
