The original codes were:
P0150 O2 Sensor Upstream
P0306 Misfire Cylinder 6
Both O2 sensors also replaced.
It was on the second visit I was told about the possible blocked cat.

So a few months back now I was chasing a gremlin that was causing my car to lose power and then judder heavily at idle.
I replaced the MAF, TPS, leads, coils, fuel filter etc to no avail.
I visited an independent Merc Specialist twice who charged me an hour labour each time...
Problem has returned :-(
Is it possible for the primary cats to get blocked? After using Cataclean the car drove fine for a couple of weeks. Will I do any damage by using another bottle so soon?

The picture below is one of the ignition coils that was removed from my W208 CLK 320 as cylinder 6 was throwing a random misfire code.

The things I replaced (in order) when addressing the same problem
- 12 new Bosch plugs and leads
- 2 new Bosch coil packs
- New Bosch MAF
- Removed Cats
- 2 new upstream Bosch O2 Sensors
- New Bosch fuel filter
- New air filter
- Gearbox reset
- Cataclean
This particular model attaches to the top and bottom of the bootlid. Like you I was a little worried about the hooks, however these ones are coated in a soft rubber like material. In order to be 100% sure they would leave a mark I also carefully covered the inside of the hooks with velvet tape.
