    CL500 and beyond

Smitten with the idea of a version of above. Sorry to be vague but there are some nice early noughties cars about however the mid 2000s facelift is nice too. I can stretch to a later car but I'm interested in the massive's views as to pros and cons of the model in general. I'll be...

    Back again

Cheers. It's been a while since the W124 and hopefully I've bridged the decade of penny pinching poorness that characterised the 90's;)

    Back again

This time with a 57 CLK 220 CDI Elegance plus a few options. A bloody nice drive to ease me into a long distance contract:D Reading around seems a solid buy with few problems?

    Parisian Classics ?

Depends how you look at it for instance at the moment from a BIK viewpoint, diesel attracts a 3% surcharge. However you are of course correct the duty for petrol and diesel is exactly the same. Diesel has traditionally had a higher pump price here and that combined with the extra VAT makes...

Bought a C250CDi and it feels slow

Of course it was aimed at you. Who else:doh: BTW the word you were grasping for is 'nuisance':D I still think my meagre typing skills are as nothing compared to your trolling ****nal however there's still a distinct possibility you're an autistic savant of the highest order. Either way I...

Bought a C250CDi and it feels slow

I'll take my chances;) Either it's a good pisstake or the chap's an utter balloon IMHO of course.

    Parisian Classics ?

I'm assuming you don't have to pay for the sticky stuff yourself otherwise you might have noticed it's a tad more expensive than the alternatives:confused: Are you George Osbourne?

Bought a C250CDi and it feels slow

Chap bought a car and thinks it's too slow. Appears to have the resources to swap the car after checking it was indeed the car he ordered. Umpteen pages later nothing material has changed but he still loves the colour. Popular thread:rolleyes:

    Parisian Classics ?

Penalising diesel drivers, as we do here, is plainly the shining path laid out before the Frenchies should they only grasp the opportunity.;)

    Gurt clunky parking brake

Twas there on my W124 but have to admit was surprised to see it on the E Class coupe I test drove the other day. Same cruise control stalky thing too:confused: Not saying they don't work but having used an electronic jobby for a few years seemed like a bit of a throwback:confused:

    Don't mind if I do.......

Returning to the fold with a 250 coupe and hoping it's as good an experience as my last W124. Spent 3 very enjoyable years in an XF and 100k miles or so of great motoring later it's the only model of car for a long time I could happily have replaced with another. However in the end I just...

He's back and this time he's Goddamn serious(ish)

Hmmm according to the jolly salesman there's a problem with the injectors on the 250 and no orders till they sort it out? Took the 350 for a drive today instead. What an awesome car that's all I can say:rock:

He's back and this time he's Goddamn serious(ish)

Long time no long time:) After the sad demise of me faithful W124 280 several years ago I must admit to being a bit jaded with Mercs what with the 90's quality probs and all. Net result has been a few competent cars since but nothing that ever touched the old 280 in the fondness stakes...
