Thank you!
You're right, they do fill the arches nicely.... I find the 21's to be the perfect size for this model S class. I wish I had kept the R63AMG 21's I got for my S600 but I didn't like them as much as I thought I would have. I think they just needed some bigger spacers to work on the S...
The S63 wont be used now that winter is here but I'll still be taking the S65 out from time to time. I thought i'd try the 21's on the S65AMG.
I think they look better on the S63AMG.... I took them off again and left the 20's on the S65
With it's original wheels
Here are some pic’s of the accumulators. The front one was the faulty one.
It had failed inside.... you can see the cable ties goes all the way in
I also took this pic's but didn't post them in this thread
Time to update this thread also.
After I bought the car, I realised that the engine mounts needed changing. I wanted to get the engine mounts done on both cars at the same time and arranged one day with a friend to give me a hand.
We started off with the S63AMG as all we had to do on that car...
I'm glad you said it :D.... I was cringing when he put the music so loud on my car 😬.... I was sweating already when I got there as I wiped the cars before hand but then I was sweating even more from feeling uncomfortable 😆
Thank you! To be honest, I thought my cars would have made it on the...
While doing all this work we wanted to make sure that every pipe or anything else that had to do with the cooling of the turbos was not blocked or damaged.
There are two pipes that run under the coil packs. Could they also be blocked?
Of course they would be!
Drivers side was unblocked...
The S65AMG is such a simple car to work on…….. who doesn’t like working on V12’s………… right!!!
To remove the AC condenser, you have to remove a million bolts, a few radiators and the whole front end just to get to it!
I did say it’s a simple car to work on didn’t I 😂...
Here goes the update..... I did warn you all!
I still love both this cars and it might not make sense having two S classes that are the same shape just one is a facelift and the other a pre facelift car BUT……… to me they are so different, looks wise and performance wise.
I have been driving...
Thank you! Nice to see some members also enjoy reading the thread and what goes on to maintaining this cars :)
Hello @badgx!
I feel so bad that I didn’t manage to speak to you and your son longer. I’m sorry, I thought I’d get a chance to properly introduce myself but as you probably noticed...
Hello everyone, I hope you're all keeping well :)
I haven't been active for a few months as have been concentrating on other things.
A few things have been done to the S65AMG and the S63AMG since I last posted an update but every time I post anything, I tend to go into all the details and I'm...
Thank you! :)
I agree with you.
It didn’t need much to transform the way it looks. I won’t be doing any more changes on the outside apart from detailing the paint when I get a chance. I’m not looking forward to machine polish both cars but it needs to be done
I took the S63AMG out today. It was the first time that I’ve taken it out for a proper drive since it was lowered, new wheels and spoiler were fitted.
I’ve been using the S65AMG more and that car gets a lot of attention but the attention the S63 gets is something else!
It was definitely an impressive car and very fast. I've always preferred BMW's over Mercedes until this last couple of years I've now become an AMG fan 😆. I'm glad I drove the M4 because it was a car I was considering to get at some point but I don't think I will now. The ride was a bit too...
Hi everyone,
I recharged the ac recently on my S65AMG W221 but it has leaked out. I removed the engine covers and noticed that the ac condenser is wet. Mercedes said its nearly £850 for the condenser and there is no date when they can get it from Germany so it could take months like the shock...
You're probably right....... I'm sure this cars have a hard life! I made sure the engine was up to temp before I gave it some but I doubt everyone does the same.
The parts of the motorway with no speed limit, I made sure I had some fun with the car . It's a shame they are restricted to 155mph
Not much to report on the S classes but we went to Germany recently. I would have gone with one of the S classes but my wife had to be back in the UK by Monday so we went by plane. We were going to rent an Audi A6 but we got there a bit too early and the lady said the car wasn’t ready and she’d...
This is such a clean car! The W211 E55AMG is one of my fav Mercedes. I'd love to own one this one day and I would try and get the car to look half as clean as yours
I hope the issue you're having is nothing serious
:)
