thanks - so the 229.5 refers to MB approval specs - learning all the time. If I buy a good quality oil - Mobil 1 etc - will it refer to these specs on bottle? Want to top it up ASAP so may pop down to local parts shop later.

I need to add a litre of engine oil and whoever filled in last service details was not the best writer. It looks like 0-30 MB. Is it likely this grade of oil was used? Just want to top up with same grade. Car had done 76k. Can't find details of suitable grades in documents I have. Cheers

Hi - trying to identify whining/whistling noise from front of engine so was planning to remove belt and spin the various pulley's - see if any are noisy or sounding rough. What is correct procedure? Would imagine either idler pulley or tensioner but need advice. Mucho appreciated :thumb:
