Why would you want to tune a C63? Surly you can’t use the extra power?
All you will do is devalue the car and ruin what AMG have spend millions on developing........said other members on this forum :)
MB dealer stated that they had a lot of issues with alloys cracking due to stradling speed bumps and placing the inner part of wheels under greater stress......having seen an alloy crack I never straddle speed bumps and alternate which side goes over the bump and which stays on road......friend...
I agree why would anyone want to map or modify a car from standard......in fact why would anyone build an extension on there house.....it’s not what the builder designed so will surly loose value.
There’s me thinking I could buy something, do what I want, have a laugh and enjoy it......or leave...
Is it worth the extra money......of course it is......use some man maths and all will become clear.
The lsd will help a lot especially on greasy and damp roads and in the dry will help keep you in a straight line.
The 5.5 with down pipes sound lovely so it’s worth it just for the noise
100% John at big fish has wrote code for MSL and knows his way around a C63. He wrote a custom map for a M157 with TTE turbos which if I remember rightly pushed 900bhp
You should give John at Big fish tuning a shout (he is part of MSL) and is located in Stokesly. He has a great Dyno set up and will be able to advise on any mapping issues.
Pulling timing sounds like a cop out to me.
Interesting, I changed the head bolts to studs and at the samtime replaced the valve buckets with the SLS ones.....also had torep, ace all injectors when one stuck open.......so just waiting for variable timing now lol......I only have 37k on the clock
The black series throttle map is basically just opening up the throttle bodies to 100%......the C63 was deliberately “detuned” to make it less powerful than E and S class withthe 63 engine.
Gearbox remap is a bit of an urban myth unless the TCU is physically removed and the solenoids adjusted...
DMS are a reputable company so if you are using then you will get a good map.
Maps that give headline figures are sometimes not the best as the power may only developed under a small rev range......it’s the area under the curve that’s important
Maybe due to being overtorqued if it has been removed previously?
Did you sort the issue with smoke?
I know it’s common for a puff of smoke on staring, but under heavy driving sounds like something more serious?
Alex I agree it's best to leave these cars totally stock so we do not add additional noise pollution to the environment etc.
Good job we have no members that push the boundaries or dare I say improve the car slightly with some cheap nasty mods
