Britain's fastest police car.
Lotus has donated one of its Evora sports cars to the traffic cops operating in the West Midlands.
Dressed in full panda car livery, the Evora will be a worrying sight for speeders.
Of more concern for law-breakers is the car's 276bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine...
Whilst playing with the configurator on the MB website, I couldn't help but notice the top speed of the 350CDI - I was surprised to see it is much quicker than my coupe and I now understand why there will not be an AMG version (as it couldn't possibly keep up)!!
I have attached an image below...

This is a high speed train built by the Alstom rail group in Belfort, France ; they share manufacturing facilities with the GE Energy Products Europe (EPE) Gas Turbine group. :rock:
Well OK, it's not a car motor, but an electrical motor and it's not for a new electric car, but for a hoover........oops I mean vacuum cleaner.
But still an interesting piece of technology news I thought:
Dyson unveils 'world's fastest motor' in new vacuum
As per the title
Hamilton clocked the fastest time in first practice in China
Surprise, surprise he had this 'double diffuser' so obviously McLaren were prepared for the appeal being dismissed in Paris but the number two McLaren is still using the original diffuser :(

This is acutally linked to my underground water-tank idea... it's progressing well, but I do need to "hide" an IBC (the one connected to a downpipe). Water will then flow from this one to the underground tanks...
Problem is, being bright white with a metal cage (and having a warning sign...
Leave it on auto;
Open windows first - front / rear / sunroof if fitted;
Use recirculate or not? etc etc
Any strain on the system by letting it do all the work on full auto?
I tend to open rear windows but am baffled by the recirculation - when on auto it seems to want this on for max...

In case anyone is interested, this is the data for the 3.7 litre petrol V6 Vito 123 :rock:
It's not on the website, or in the Vito range literature. I got it from DCUK when I asked for info. on the Vito 120 :rolleyes: (3 litre V6 diesel :devil: ).
OK, not a win (yet) as such, but next weekend me and markbe (SL600 Kleeman) will be running with this little lot at Bruntingthorpe air field, so who do you think will come 1st 2nd and 3rd then at top speeds in 1.5 miles???!!
BMW M6
Porsche 993 GT2
996GT2
996GT3
996 Turbo DMS
997s...
... a 1993 Vauhall Calibra of course (if you've read this month's Top Gear mag). Subtle bonnet bulge accomodates an 11.5-litre Chevvy V8, giving a NOS-assisted output of 1400 BHP
Hence 0-60 in 1.25 secs :eek:
It's fully UK road-legal with tax, MOT, and insurance...
