How do you actually remove the head unit in an ML? sure its the same for Audio 20 as is for COMAND units as both are double DIN, but where do you start?

Just fitted a new head unit ok, had to change a couple of wires on the iso to get 12v to the signal booster but mostly ok, problem is tho that the sound keeps changing as if the speakers have been covered and then will come good again and so on, anyone any idea as to what the problem might be?

Budget up to £150 and ideally will have Bluetooth. Doesn't have to be a top brand, just been relatively up-to-date. Not interested in a single DIN, I've got one already thanks!
