BBC News - New charge for foreign lorries using British roads
So whilst I fully support the idea, I can't help thinking that once the French have stopped complaining about it and blocking the ports, I am going to find myself hit with a charge as soon as arrive in Calais in return.
As some of you may remember, I have had front end suspension renewal recently. Changed shocks on all for corners of the car and changed balljoints and lower control arm bushings in the front. Car feels much more solid now.
Only thing is when driving on rough roads and hitting pot holes the...
Here we go.. plenty of fine country roads out there, so let's reduce the speed limit on all of them in a 'one size fits all' move. Why does this country have to reduce everything to the lowest common denominator.

No surprises I guess, but some interesting stats on peak times for injuries for different traffic types, etc.
Hi guys,
My better half recently bought me a camcorder for my birthday and I am trying to learn the ropes of creating and editing videos.
After a nice week long break along the North Coast of the Emerald Isle, armed with my camcorder and suction mount, I thought I would take the opportunity...
Hello, first post so please be gentle :)
I'm considering a C63 estate for my wife as an everyday family car. She drove one at a dealer yesterday and loved it, but is concerned about its practicality in the depths of winter in rural Bucks. It's obviously powerful and RWD and she doesn't want...
Guys,
I'm heading north for a few days over the next week, Chester area then on to the Lakes.
I'd really like to get some good driving roads in, any suggestions?

I am very angry at these people trying to cycle up a 10-15% hill on an A road taking up a whole lane.

Its report, covering 28,000 miles of A-roads and motorways, says Scotland has the highest risk highways...
I posted this as a response to another thread last night , but it struck me as such a simple idea that I'm amazed it hasn't been done already .
Having had two cars written off by uninsured drivers ( when they were parked outside my house and I wasn't even in them ) , the scum who just drive...
I came across this today. Amazing to see going round the roundabout ahead. I've always wanted one ever since top gear tested them in 2003. But at £50K as they were latterly sold?
I understand Carver have gone bust now because so few people bought one at that price - Shame really as I...
Has any one else noticed the awful state that the roads are in, it seems that along with the pot holes there is a lot of surface damage and here in Warwickshire a lot of the drains and inspection covers have dropped, some by 4 or so inches.
The 09 disc is titled as uk and tmc and major roads of europe.
So does it cover only major roads ie motorways and other main roads or will it actually take me to my hotels? ie in town centres, petrol stations etc etc

This is an interesting story...
The thought has been kicking around for a number of years but looks like some decent research and trials may start soon. I guess there will be issues to be sorted around insurance liabilities, etc, and as new technology would need to be embedded into vehicles...
