Just bought number two daughter a C270CDI, they say the car has Star Shield and is Merc approved product. Never heard of it before, did notice that on a Black car, bird poo still left (not unlike petrol on water) stain, even when it had only just landed!! (I was washing the car for her)...

Recently my exhaust heat sheild has been rattling. Took it to National Tyre and they did their best to put some new washers and bolts on to keep it tight (and didnt charge me for the work). However after driving around for a while the rattle returned. I didnt realy want to go back to National...

Who's heard of an acoustic shield that lines the entire (or most of) the underside of the car? Bodyshop reckon that the rust on my floorpan is 'actually' on my acoustic shield and formed by moisture and actually just wipes off, so just needs a valet underneath the car.
