£12.5k for a W123 230E!!!

3722 genuine miles ??

That's as near as you will get to a brand new car but even so it's worth nowhere near that.

Besides I believe these cars where meant to be driven and this one obviously hasn't so who could guess what problems are waiting.
There is no mention of service history either.

I had a W126 280SE and at one point it was gararged for 4 years... Everything was fine BUT i had the car serviced regulalrly/oil changed etc. Its a nice car but well over priced. May be some car fanatic shall buy it?

If its genuine.. i hope it goes to a nice home... would hate this to be used n abused!

He's having a laugh - surely.

I emailed him earlier asking if he added an extra 0 in the starting price by mistake.

It wouldn't be worth a quater of that if it was a CE, never mind the bog standard motor.

Worth no more than £2k.

I'd say that it's priced optimisitcally, but it's obviously worth more than £2K and will sell for whatever someone is prepared to pay for it.

Maybe if he lowered the starting price he may get more of an indication as to what the buying public will pay?

You can normally judge a ball-park guide to a car's value by comparing it to similar ones that have sold - bit difficult if there are not many sub 4K mile, 25 year old examples out there! ;)

Just IMHO as usual :)

I'd say £2k is the most you'd expect for that car - particularly on ebay where prices rarely reach market value and buyer is king.

There are still 1000s of 123s about due to their exceptional build quality and durability. And, as mentioned before, that sort of mileage on a car of that age could be seen as a bad thing, unless the car's got a proven 'time' service history.

I'd offer a grand ;)

Go to Morrroco and nearly every Taxis out there is a W123/W126 and they are running strong....

May be if the guy hangs on to it and in another 20yrs might be able to get his asking price.... ;)

How much did these go for in the day??

I was -4 months at the time this was registered

Think he is being hopefull but I am shure it will fetch a good price but would need to be in show room condition.

It's still got to be worth £5k - £6k. I know a production company that would pay half of that to hire it for set.
