ML63 V8 AMG N/A
Afternoon
Any help would be appreciated
My 07 ML63 air suspension doesn’t want to level up I’ve tried everything Mercedes say no faults but when I turn engine off but don’t lock the car it goes down then up then down down up then over night if locked it drops at drivers side rear then takes ages when started up again but never seems to level up again
I will make you aware this car only goes to car shows now so only really active from March to September
Many thanks

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Air suspension can be tricky to troubleshoot for those who don’t work on it regularly, and relatively straight forward for those who do.

I am not an expert but I have owned the same model for many years. Unless you are very very handy with the spanners, you may need to find a reputable specialist in Mercedes or air suspension.

It sounds like the system is trying to compensate for a loss somewhere, and the first thing to eliminate is the Offside Rear if that’s sinking when parked overnight as described.

With age and wear, the rear air springs (or bags) are known to crack along the creases or folds, making it tricky to spot the damage. I would take a very close look in the folds all the way around the air bag, and replace if suspect.

There are level sensors which have been resigned a few times over the years. These can bend or be damaged by impact. Have a close look comparing OSR to the NSR and replace if suspect.

The other logical thing to check is the feed bringing air from the pump through to the distribution block, pipes, and ultimately rear air bags, in case there is a leak somewhere else, before it reaches the air bag.

I’d start with the OSR but if nothing seems to be wrong, then I would perform the same checks I’ve described with all four corners, comparing as you go. The distribution valve block shouldn’t be forgotten.

I would avoid Aerosus replacement parts. I have ordered three - at two different times - due to Mercedes parts being on back order with no end in sight. and all three were faulty. Never again.

Am happy to be corrected, but this seems to be one of the most comprehensive videos of Airmatic air suspension out there - including diagnosis and parts.

Thanks for the response
It hasn’t got a leak, it was at my mates garage only me him doors shut, lifted car in air, raised suspension lowered it turned engine off, it lowered stopped then raised itself then stopped for next 10 mins in complete silence we checked everything on the car but no air leak and the car stayed level then took it home and it sat level for 9-10 days then started it up moved it to wash it it then dropped at driver rear but not fully but then noticed the passenger side front and rear was raised higher and this is the process it goes through but the drivers rear never drops fully throughout
Hope this makes sense 😂
Cheers
