100 most beautiful cars

That list is done on proportional representation.
I doubt you would find any 2 people in this country who would have the same top 10 in the same order never mind a top 100.

For instance, in that list a Lamborghini Countach is some 30 places below an MG-TC
And the Citroen SM is some 30 places below where I would put it.

I have a series one, it is a good looking vehicle in its own right, as has already been said It is all in the eye of the beholder.
I also have an R107 and a W211 both have their attractions too, but not to everyones taste.

Yep, there's aesthetic beauty and there's functional beauty.

I agree the Landrover has functional beauty. It's designed to to exactly what it does, with little or no adornment, or concession to fashion (at least, in the old days). That makes it beautiful in its honesty.

Aesthetic beauty is the more subjective one, and I tend to think people are divided over certain ages of cars as much as by any other boundary. THere are those that think everything biult in the fifties is unsurpassed,a nd those who feel the same about cars from forty years later.

I, for example agree with only one of the top ten, and I think I've voiced my feelings over the Bugatti Atlantique here before :)

Yep, there's aesthetic beauty and there's functional beauty.

That'll be a functional aesthetic then ;)

Some odd choices there. 2 Maseratis in the top 100 and no A6G...

A lot of people just see long and low (longer and lower the better) and think that is beautiful.

Really want categories. Best looking saloons of recent years I would put the top 3 for me: -
E Class 211 series. Front back and side views are great. Seeing it coming towards you it looks really good. Knockout.
C class (old model now) gorgeous with the best headlamp design MB ever had
S class 220 series. You could gaze at it from any angle and it pleased the eye.

Yes I'm an MB enthusiast butI believe I would pick these even if I were not. I don't like the Chris Bangle BMWs at all and I don't like the big mouth on the front of Audis and Peugeots. Saabs look a bit odd and the Mondeo too agressive and as though several people designed different bits of it.

Oh, dear. Well, it's almost an impossible topic, isn't it? Bless them for including the Morgan, the Stratos, the GTV Alfa (as we got them here), and the Dino. Pity for those they missed.

Is it true that Stirling Moss called the E-type "The dumb blonde of sports cars"?
