Hi all, we have an enquiry from a customer of our's. They are a very good indy (all used to work here) and are having trouble fitting the torsion springs on the boot lid on a 107 as per picture. There is a workshop tool for fitting these as they have to be under load when fitted. Does anyone have or know of someone who has the tool for sale or to borrow/rent.
Cheers

Try S&R motors in Formby. Ask for Ray. He once gave me advice on repairing a more mature Mercedes. Tel: 01704 876633

The actual tool required is the Mounting Lever part number 107589003700.
But I have replaced the torsion bars just using a 2ft crow bar with the fork bent (on a vice) slightly backwards. It does the job just as well.
