Hello, my 1992 2.0 190e is overheating and my mechanic said it needs a new fan switch. None of my local scrapyards have any and I'm stuck as my mechanic can't get either.

Does anyone know where i could get one? Any help is appreciated! :thumb:

Should be easy enough to get one new from MB? Wouldn't have thought it would be expensive.

Just pop into your local dealership - they might have one on the shelf if you're lucky :)

Failing that there are other suppliers like GSF but I don't trust them as they are quite bad at supplying you with the correct parts.

My mechanic tried a MB dealer and they don't do any anymore :( I tried ebay but couldn't find any either!

Update!

I ordered a part using this number: A0065459124

The switch that needs replaced is 4 pinned but I was told 190e fan switches are only 2 or 3 pinned. The place I bought it off told me that it wasn't a fan switch but some switch to do with the ecu and fan and that it was 4 pinned. I honestly don't know if its the right switch but lets hope it is :(

The fan solenoid switch is either 2 pin (switches at 100c) or 3 pin (used for auxiliary fan when aircon is fitted ) switches at 110c--- now I believe only the 3 pin switches are available but as long as you use the right connections everything will be fine

So a 3 pin fan would theoretically work in a 4 pin connection?

Do you mean the wiring plug/connector has room for 4 pins? As far as I know there has never been a 4 pin switch for the electromagnetically switched fan made by Mercedes. Usually mercedes plugs will only fit one way so you should be OK as long as no-one has changed the original wiring/plug/switch combo.
