Hi folks,

I'm brand new here and brand new to Mercedes. Picked up a pretty clean 93 190e 2.6 (first Benz) today and would love to go to three pedals. Over the last week I've been courting an 85 5 speed 190, but couldn't get past the cosmetic flaws. The owner of that car has another 5 speed 190e 2.3 (1984) that he's parting out and I may be able to buy all the swap bits. Is the manual trans out of the 84 compatible with the back end of my 2.6? I understand there's a lot to consider via the flywheel, but like I said I'm brand new to all of this. I've tried to read as much as I can but can't find a definitive answer. Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Make sure you have the correct diff ratio's, auto diff is wrong for a manual

Stick with the auto, MB manual gearboxes of that era are agricultural.
