1994 W124 E500 Limited

[500E]

Hello,

I am intrested in an 1994 E500 Limited Edition model and I was wonder what acctually distinguishes the normal E500 against the E500 LTD? So far I have come up with:

17" EVO II Alloy Wheels
2-Tone leather interior
Remote central locking

What else? Anything to do with suspension? Brakes?

E500 limited first shown at the Frankfurt IAA 1993. Production models available in Sapphire Black (Saphirshwartz code s09) and Brilliant Silver, with interiors either two tone grey or green pattern on black leather. on silver cars pattern was red. pattern extended to gear knob and lower half of steering wheel. Steering wheel looks like the smaller sportline type also. wood choice is either birds eye maple or burr walnut. Brake improvements were a move from the Brembo brakes originally from from the SL500 to larger ATE components from the SL600 but when in the lifespan of the E500 I dont know exactly. Other changes to the wheels etc as you said. This is gleaned from an article by Ian Kuah who owned one. :bannana:

Hello,

I am intrested in this car now. Would anyone know about the cost involved in registering the car here and the procedure? I will be planning to fly over to Germany, pickup the car and drive back.

Also, I have used the MB Russian website and decoded the VIN. It says approx model year 1993 although its advertised as 1994. Is this just a problems with the decoder as all Limited E 500's are 1994 & 1995? Everything else about the car seems 100%. I will not purchase is of course if it is not as 100% described. He says NO accidents or NO dings or dents. He also said its NEVER been repainted - any areas to check if it has?

TRY http://www.dvla.gov.uk/faq/faq_imports_exports.htm FOR THE BASICS. The Frankfurt show is in September so September 93 is probably when the e500 limited was first available although it might be termed the "94" model to distinguish it from the older 500E.
