I know the c280 suffered eletric probs. Im really after some help on what to do next ?? and wondered if any others have had a similer prob??

Thanks in advance

The brake lights are possibly due to a faulty brake light switch behind the brake pedal Cheap to renew and an easy DIY. Temperature gauge check the connection at the front of the engine under the black cover. Handle with care your car is in the faulty engine wiring loom age band. If the insulation is brittle/broken then you have problems that will require attention sooner or later. If not try carefully cleaning up the connection to the sensor to see if that helps. The sensor itself could be faulty of course.

When the wiring loom fault stop and where did it start from? I'm concerned as I've got a '94
C180

1994-1995 plus or minus a few months are the main years affected AFAIK. I have heard several versions of the time interval quoted . Since the fault is related to under-bonnet temperatures the sixes and V8s are worst effected as are cars that are driven in hotter climates.

93-95 as I understand it

All 1996 manufacured cars should have the new harnesses

IIRC, it only concerns W124 looms...

Sometimes the fuse holder contacts can corrode and make bad contacts with the ends of the fuses. Try cleaning up the contacts on the suspect fuses and see if things improve.
