Hello all,
I have a 1995 E200 Cabriolet and looking for a wiring schematic..this is PMS system 2.0 m111 engine, also looking for leads on a manual gearbox for the car.
I bought the car in 2001 in Hagen, Germany and had it shipped to the states and have put about 30,000 km in the last 9 years.
136ps HP is not enough so I have fitted a custom turbo setup and would like to tune it for around 300 ps Hp.
Has been a 3 year project that I left sitting while moving about the country,so on with finishing her up.
Thanks
Email me direct if possible [email protected]
Car is in Washington State but I hope to ship it off to Taiwan after finishing my turbo build
Cheers

Hi there and welcome to the forum. It would be nice if you share some pic with us,engine bay to.

okay, here are a few pics don't know what the proper etiquette is, don't want to put too many being new and all..If I can upload more I have a lot

That`s a very nice car.Is that AMG brakes at the front?

Yes,
I have fitted C32 AMG front 4 piston Brembo brakes...
I'm looking to fit SL600 rear brakes once I get the turbo sorted out.

Would fitting a 230K engine not be an easier way of getting more power?

Getting 300bhp from a 2 litre 111 engine may be a mission too far?

Wow, although I can't help with the wiring diagram that does look fantastic!!

Try this site- its for the C220 with probably the HFM injection system but might help? http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/Mercedes-Benz/1995/C220/SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS/

Your problem is

1. the E200 Cabriolet was never a UK import.

2. the PMS system on the 2.0 litre M111 engine is quite rare

3. the bulk of engines of this type were to be found in the C class model.

hope you find the site useful.

presumably the kit comes with its own ecu to cotrol boost and fire those 2x extra injectors? and you want the pin outs for throttle position and rpm signal? i guess the extra manifold injectors are batch firing so you don't need cam signal etc? i will see what i can find wiring wise, but give us a clue as to what you need to specifically do?

Looking away from the engine side of things, you might have to overcome potential issues with the gearbox if you're planning on ~ 300bhp and a significant torque increase.

The manual boxes used on the M111 engines weren't great IMHO and not all that durable with the standard power outputs, and the 5-speed 722.6 used on these models weren't exactly bulletproof either.

Maybe a good idea to look for an alternative gearbox - Getrag or similar?

Also - as Nick has said, a 230K M111 could be a good transplant? Bonus being that using OE parts you can have ~ 200bhp out of the box, and there's plenty of scope for tuning later if that's the aim - larger pulley, intercooler mods etc.

Nice looking project though BTW, I appreciate the personal touch that you're after :)

Will

Thanks all
The engine was already tuned at 285RWHP and piloted it that way for about 1 year, but I can't get more without swapping to a manual. I have achieved much more than 300Hp with the 2.0 while my project was in development but broke many things above 300hp. The auto box seems to have a mind of it's own and even installation of a manual valve body does not stop her from shifting forward on it's own.

Already running a 230k engine m111 out of a 1999 slk, but with turbo instead of the supercharger. 200hp would not be worth all the work & $$.I have a 94 E200 Coupe parked at my brothers place in Manchester with a manual box and I just love it. Looking for a manual box from a 170 1999 230slk as they are a bit stronger, other choice is a 5 speed getrag from a 88 BMW 535i. After 3 years spend fabricating to get this all going i'm looking for the M111 170 manual box so I can have her cruising by my next birthday in Feb.

I specifically need the wiring schematic to identify the wiring going to and from the auto box so I figure what needs to be done so the PMS controller is happy.

Understanding that the PMS cabriolet was german market only car, but in the uk the PMS was on many a C & E class.

Told by a chap here in the states that builds turbo engines for bespoke high end cars that a MAP sensor is the best for a turbo car, he recommended I stick with the PMS factory system, I have a MSD box handling the spark leads, a additional computer handling extra fuel nozzles, but mainly I want to keep the solid smooth idle of a Mercedes and give the car off to my mom or wife to drive without a list of instructions a mile long.

285 RWHP from a 2.0 ?

What is it putting out at the flywheel ? 350 bhp ?

Can't help but think that none of this is going to have a very long life , the 2.0 engines just weren't designed to put out that much power.

howard, don't fret, he has been driving this monster around for a year, and clearly enjoys this challenging project.

han hei, what can i say but well done my friend, i take my hat off to you! i will try to get you a circuit diagram on monday when i get back to work, but the gearbox wiring will be very simple indeed.
