Could some kind soul tell me what controls the heaters in the door mirrors? I noticed today, even though the car temp guage read +3.5 deg that the door mirror heaters were still coming on. Is this a fault? They were still on 14 miles later when I had got to work. Theystopped when I turned off the engine I noticed

Dont know but expect there is some form of solenoid/thermostat - sure i read somewher (perhaps in the manual) that they come on at certain low temperature - having said that, maybe there designed to stay on on the prefacelift?
sure someone will be allong soon to confirm - nice car bye the bye:)

They come on 15degC and below and stay on until the ignition is switched off.

So in your case all normal.

How did you know they were on.?

The thermostat is stuck onto the back of the mirror glass.

Well because the mirror is warm if you touch it!

Thanks for the help chaps, my mind at rest!
