Hi People,

Does anyone have any experience with manual C180k Coupe's ??

The biting point is about an inch or so from the top of the pedal, does anyone know if this is normal.

Also there is a slight grumble from around the gearstick when the clutch pedal is pressed down fully, this goes when you release the clutch. Its not apparent all the time but does happen now and again.

Any help appreciated

Thanks.

Thanks for the response.

Ive been quoted £850 from an independant for a new clutch and dual mass flywheel. The mechanic said that its not advisable to get a new clutch and not the flywheel as the clutch still may not work properly and may fail due to the old flywheel. Does anyone know if this is true or have had any experience with this kind of situation.

Should preferably be replaced as a pair, however it is possible to get the Dual Mass Flywheel skimmed for a fraction of the price of a new one if it is in reasonable condition. £850 sounds a little high but I might be wrong but can't check prices until tomorrow but IIRC Flywheel is about £300 and a full top end clutch kit is around £150 so that would make £400 Labour which at London prices may not be out of the question? I'd investigate the skimming option before buying a new one.
