2003 W211 Comand 2.0 Intermittent

So I have Comand 2.0 on my 2003 W211 and when it works, it works beautifully... however, it often has no power whatsoever.

Dead as a dodo, sometimes for an entire car journey, sometimes until I've been driving from anywher between five minutes to an hour.

When it comes to life, it remains fully functional for the rest of the journey, even if that's for hours and hours, without hitch. Then, turn off the engine for two minutes power back on and no Comand again.

Any ideas? Not sure where to start.

Well I've checked many things.

Battery with engine off is 12.7V, engine on 13.95

All fuses well seated and beep out OK on my meter

Disconnected and re-connected cd changer and comand

Still nada... I think I'll order a replacement comand. Do these need to be coded to the rest of the car?

Replaced Comand with another identical part number from eBay and it's working flawlessly, no need to recode. Happy days
