ABS/ESP pre-safe inoperative intermittent fault W204 C63

not sure this is possible on mine (08 year) i believe you can only do it on the facelift model?
If you scroll through the options ,if it's there it's there . It was there on my 16 plate e350.

Ive scrolled thru this thread kinda quick, Outa curiosity has there been any work done on the steering column or airbag (problems).
not in my ownership. any particular reason why?

update:

took the car to a Mercedes specialist. after an hour and 1/4 diagnosis they recommended doing a full pin out of the wiring form the ABS module plug back to check for broken wires. they were also still 50% on the module itself being bad but as it had been checked and deemed OK recommended wiring 1st.

in the meantime i sold the car to my father who is taking it on. i will update when its resolved!

Please ,do share the outcome. Not many do 👍

spoke too soon! :p had a red battery warning come on the other day, appears the alternator is gone... i checked the resting battery voltage on the screen and when turning on it was still being drained rather than charging.. is there any way this could be the battery? i ruled that out as it drove me at least 30 miles home presumably with no charging from alternator!

Well that's where we started 🤣🤣

haha, i hope its not related.. surely even if the battery was completely dead there would still be a voltage when the engine is on form the alternator? something i am not seeing..

Should be if you touch the connectors and not the battery poles .

yeah as i mentioned this was just using the display on the dash so everything was connected.

turns out it was the ABS module and the company who looked at it (AC tronix) didn't pick up on the fault.

brand new module from dealer sorted it. apparently there are only a few left now too..

shame a faulty non-diagnosis caused such a headache..

hope this helps somebody with the same issue. thanks to all who helped me too!

Hi everyone,

new to the forum and wondering if anyone can help with a strange intermittent fault i have.

during every journey i get a warning on the dash " ABS/ESP and pre-safe inoperative" sometimes it will disable the power steering and sometimes not. i scanned the car and found a rear left abs sensor fault - this was changed but the fault is still occurring without this error code coming back.

i now get a few different codes and from what i have been told i now have an issue on one or both of the front sensors? sometimes the fault appears when 1st turning the car on, other times after driving for a few miles. it also ALWAYS faults when turning the car back on after a short drive, i.e at a petrol station. even though it got there without fault..

my plan was to replace a front abs sensor at a time. initially i thought it was the module and have since opened that up and soldered all the connections but this didnt change anything.

help appreciated!

thanks

Adam
