2004 SLK Central locking issue

Hi, Car has run well for a few years with no issues at all, today central locking playing up. Door unlocked albeit very slowly with the button struggling to pop up. it locks drivers side slowly but boot & passenger side not locking. Remote batteries are fine & indicators flash for lock/unlock as normal but buttons not operating properly. When starting/driving I thought I heard a small fan/motor type noise from the boot area but this disappeared when cycling engine off & back on. We've had some horrendous rain/downpours recently & car is parked on driveway rather than garaged so suspect this could be the cause...what's the solution? Any ideas appreciated. Also anyone advise what the code reader type is i.e. OBD2 or EOBD etc?

All sorted, when I cleaned/pressure washed I'd done too much getting the soap out of boot to car body so put water into boot & soaked the vac pump controller. Once dried out its started working perfectly again. Will be more careful with the pressure washer in future!
