2008 W211 front dome light

There are 2 buttons on the front dome light unit that I don't know anything about. They are situated close to the windscreen and both appear to have a car symbol on them.
Can anyone tell me what they are for?

One button primes/deactivates the interior motion sensor.

The other, activates/deactivates tow-away protection.
