2010 E320 CDI AMG SPORT Estate Buyers advice please

Hi All. I am looking into buying the above and would appreciate any pointers or advice on this model. I believe they do a 231 or 265 hp. Heard something about inlet port shut off motor failing on these mtoros?

The earlier model (211) with the V6 engine has a reputation for a turbo oil seal that leaks onto the inlet port shutoff motor and causes all sort of problems. Apparently, there's a later (modified) oil seal which helps, but it seems the best thing is to change the seal every couple of years, regardless. I haven't heard of the same problem occurring on the later 212 model, but worth bearing in mind when you're buying.

The 265bhp I find is 3-4mpg better than the 231bhp I had. Also the 231bhp is higher tax. Although both are great engines. Not much else reported to go wrong with these cars yet.

Otherwise it's probably down to things like colour and spec.

Be prepared to do a nationwide search to find the right one, but when you do, they are great cars .

By 2010 it will be called a 350 CDi Sport.
