Hi
Does anyone know where I can buy a set of front discs for my 2012 CLS 350 cdi with the amg sport kit (discs are cross drilled) without breaking the bank. They have had it after only 35k, which seems a bit premature to me.
Thanks in advance

Have you Tried an MB dealer? Also try ECP or GSF.

If you are not bothered about OEM then maybe check out company called Mtec (www.mtecbrakes.co.uk).

Former car was an Auris SR180 and a lot of the guys on the Toyota forum seemed to use them. Can spec drilled, grooved, dimpled even painted black (pointless as it obviously wears off!).

Never got round to using them myself but seemed to be well thought of and quite well priced from memory.

No idea if they spec for Mercs but maybe worth checking to see if not least to get a comparator.

I have mtec discs all round. Drilled and grooved. They are great discs and at the right price

Also installed on 2 of my audis.

Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

Out of interest did you go for a discs and pads deal with Mtec or source pads separately? How are discs and pads wearing comparable to OEM?

Modern brake materials mean anything over 25,000 miles is a bonus on an big heavy automatic. There are strict criteria for permissible brake disc wear below which performance will drop away from factory spec. The brakes will still work but not as well. I reckon 35,000 is pretty good.
