E Class Coupe
Newbie and novice here, on my second coupe but I'm hanerking after changing the wheels on my coupe from 17 to 18" - Got to be honest, I havent got a clue when it comes to wheels, then subsequent tyre matching. Any help would be appreciated

i'm still looking for some help if possible - Wheels on a SE have 7.5 rim and the AMG are 8.5 rims - Couple of questions on this, Will it be a straight swap, no probelms or would i need extra bit and pieces or would I defo need to look for 18" wheels with a 7.5 rim ?

Any help would be appreciated as the MB dealer really dont want to help

The important thing to look for when changing wheels and sizes is the ET (or offset). This is the measurement from the centre of the wheel to the face of the hub. All MB wheels have the ET stamped on the inside face of the wheel along with the part number.

Using the ET number on your original wheel, you can then look for wheels with a very similar offset. Checking on this site, Mercedes-Benz Fitting Chart and Wheel Fitment Guide | Alloy Wheels Direct
scroll down to your model E Class C207. You will find your wheels are 17x7.5 fronts with an ET45 and 235x45 tyre. The rears, if staggered will be 17x8.5 with an ET49 and tyre size 255x45. Checking the tyre sizes will confirm if you have staggered (wider) wheels on the rear.
If you have 17x7.5 wide wheels all round, you will have the same size tyre all round also.

So you want to fit 18 inch wheels. Go further down that chart and find you can fit a combination of 18x8 all round, 18x8 front and 18x8.5 rears if you want to keep using MB original wheels. Check the ET's needed 45 for the 18x8 and 48/49 for the rear if using 18x8.5 wheels. That chart also shows the recommended tyre sizes for those wheels. If in doubt, ask and you'll get good advice here.

Do you want to use original MB wheels or aftermarket? E bay have some good deals but the quality will not be MB. Again.check the ET is as close to the ones you need.

Remember if the ET shown is smaller than the ET needed the wheel will stick out from the hub further. (eg. You need ET45 and want to fit ET 40. The wheel will sit 5mm further out) Conversely,a higher ET will sit in further and possibly foul your brake caliper or suspension strut without a spacer depending on how much higher.
It appears many C Class W204 wheels will fit your model as they have similar ET's
Any questions ask away as its a bit less complicated than I have managed to explain really:wallbash::D

Put simply, yes you can fit 18x8.5's all round if you want.
You can go as high as a 20x9 on the front, but the ET's must be close.

Thanks for this much appreciated - Defo AMG wheels, as i do like the look
