2019 E Class Cabriolet android auto not connecting

2019 E Class Cabriolet
I have just bought a E Class Cabriolet and cannot get the android auto to connect. I have changed wires,plugged it into the centre arm console in the correct position but nothing is happening, driving me crazy...can anyone advise please.

Look up your car's Datacard using a free online VIN decoder.

If the car has Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, then the Datacard should show the following options:

14U Smartphone integration
16U Smartphone Integration - Apple CarPlay
17U Smartphone Integration - Android Auto

It says 15U when searching the VIN,I'm sorry if I'm not too clued up on this but just want my Google maps and music!! 🤣 Any help would be appreciated,if something can be done, bought a dongle but that was a waste of time 🤣

It means that you have the hardware required for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (I.e. the USB port), but you need to activate Apple CarPlay. Plenty of suppliers on eBay selling activation.

I took it to mercedes today to get the mercedes me app cleared from previous owner as on phone to them they said that may resolve it or allow me to activate through the app, helpful on phone but totally ignorant individuals on arrival. Would not even allow me to speak to someone regarding my inquiry, basically the receptionist came back and forward with information! The mercedes me app is now registered with vehicle in my name but still no further forward.

They can seem quite rude at times , they get pissy with me at service times 🥰. Because I took out a plan at year 4 when things get expensive. BLESS !!
