Hi there,
I'm picking up a 59 plate c class later this week and I was wondering how many people have replaced the standard audio to some extent and what pitfalls there are with these cars?
I have a love of high quality audio and was previously running a fully active front end sound stage in the Vectra with Genesis amps and Hertz HSK components (6.5").
Can anyone enlighten me as to how easy it is to change the speakers and how much funtionality you lose when replacing the head unit? I have read that the standard hed units are quite capable SQ wise and so mya just look at using something like the JBL MS8/audison bit 1/alpine imprint to achieve a low level output from the standard system.
That is unless anyone can advise if the OEM head units have the ability to add RCA pre outs like the VAG head units do?
Ideally I think I'd like to keep the OEM head unit as I dont want to lose the clean lines and classy look....
Cheers for any help that anyone can give!
