229.3 spec oil

Noticed on my oil can the Mercedes spec it has is 229.3 Am wondering if this is the best for my c280 V6 ?. i certainly runs well and engine is whisper quiet.

Ignoring the complexities of low ash oils for vehicles with DPF, The highest spec approval from MB is 229.5 with 229.1 being the lowest, so 229.3 sounds about right.

Halfords are flogging their own brand of 4l fully synthetic oil (Made by Comma I believe) for a tenner at the moment

Joe, thank you very much. MB229.3 spec as well as the usual A3/B3/B4. That'll do me, and at that price, it HAS to be a bargain; I'll be picking up my 20 litres tomorrow.
