Hi all,

What version of map DVD do I need to get the 3D birds eye mapping and TMC for a W203 COMAND? :dk:

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK it's not available for the 203 COMAND-APS

Two questions there............
1. TMC is active on map disks for the W203 COMAND system after and including version 6.1 (although version 6.3 I am told works better).
2. As whitenemesis says, 3D birds eye mapping (like TomTom etc etc) is not available for your COMAND unit unfortunately. You dont have a choice. The only display type is flat map style. Your only display option is whether to have the map displayed north (where your direction of travel rotates) or your direction displayed north (where the whole map rotates about your position).
Most people tend to use the first option of display, however a few do prefer the "always travelling north" option.
If you REALLY did want to have the option of Birds eye display you would have to change your COMAND unit for one of the newer HDD type units. But the cost would be prohibitive. And I am not sure it would fit anyway - or be technically compatible with the car.
The HDD version of the COMAND unit can be easily identified by the mini SD card slot located above the CD/DVD slot.
I believe it looks something like this......
