5.0-32v w124 coupe

Wow! Very nice car!
I wonder how much it is?

The centre console isn't stock. I've seen this on a couple of Japanese E60 AMGs before. Does anyone know the story behend this?

Darren

looks like a custom build to me, (in so much as it's not a factory AMG car).

Looks nice though.

Have to disagree, the lines of the car are just wrong.

The arches are too wide, the rear 10J wheel just looks lost  Look at the car side on and you'll see.

Like that alot

Whats with the crome rings on the dials, stuck to the outside of the plastic very barry (odd on a an otherwise good looking car)

Get some 18" AMG split rims (R129 style, staggered set up), and it would look better, I think :)

Darren

It's actually fitted with R129 OZ split rims...8.5 front 10 rears....

I really don't like white dials either, white dials with a chrome ring doesn't make it look any nicer..but they are personal touches easily removed.

I like it....but

Agree it needs bigger wheels deeper to fill the arches and the front needs lowering a tad to match the back.

Depending on price I guess also, it looks quite different so thats a good thing

I don't know but could be because most things in Japan, even things like food and books seem to be 3-5 times more expensive than most other countries. Might also have something to do with the way their economy is structured.

Maybe my trusty old 500SEC should be shipped over to Japan when decide to sell the old bugger?

Worth (maybe) £1500 here - £5k there lol

Yes he is.

Old school Japanese Mercs usually seem to be extremely expensive.
Just take a look at www.jauto.co.jp as an example of what I mean :)

Does anyone know why this is the case?

Darren

AMG Japan received more options than any other country - AMG w126/124/201s in Japan are usually sensational and looking at the brochures that AMG issued in Western Europe, NA and Japan, the longest list of items available is Japan's list !

The car in the link above is an after version, not a genuine AMG Japan car...but when you find one of those, they are worth every bit of their value.

A genuine w124 AMG Hammer is worth well over 30k gbp any day of the week. A Japan version fully optioned could fetch far more. But there were only 13 Hammers ever....rare as rocking horse poo !
