527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION

I have the 527 COMAND DVD APS WITH NAVIGATION, there is no box in the glovebox but there is an SD card slot on the front of the radio control, can someone please tell me the following:-
1) What is the difference between the version in the glovebox and the version fitted to my W212
2) Is it possible to update the maps, and if so how do I do it.

I have searched everywhere and there doesn't seem to be a definitive guide anywhere.

The glovebox thing is the lower system (Audio 20) with an external Becker Map Pilot. You have the better COMAND system with built in Hard Disk
Maps updated from USB with a licence key. Take to [email protected] and send them your VIN number
