Hello all, my first post on MBForums after the purchase of my 180K estate! I am really pleased with my purchase, but after years of cars having CD changers, this car came without one – and I’m missing it. I have an Audio 20 unit with the single slot CD, and no aux-in socket that I can see. My options are to go to a CD changer, or think about an Ipod interface. My wife has an ’07 C180K coupe, and her car came with a CD changer that can read MP3 disks. My questions are this:
  • What model number/s changers do I need to look out for on fleabay to find one like that?
  • What do they usually go for, and if I need to buy the leads, how much are they?
  • Will I need a bracket too?
  • Is the Denison kit or the official Merc one better for the Ipod connection? I read on an American forum about bass attenuation on the official kit. Anyone with strong opinions?
  • I used to have an MG ZT, and with that headunit, you could either use a Kenwood or Sony aftermarket CD changer instead of the official one. Has anyone here done similar with an adaptor? Which fits best?
Finally, back to my wife’s CD changer, I have made an MP3 disk, and it plays this fine (first 99 tracks I know!) but I cannot seem to get the track names on the display – anyone know what settings I need on the burning programme for this?
